Steel bathtubs

A steel bath is not the most popular piece of plumbing. However, its low cost and light weight are often advantages that outweigh the disadvantages. In a steel bath, water cools quickly, and when it is filled, a loud enough loud sound is heard. But on the other hand, steel is resistant to damage and cleaning agents. Reviews about steel bathtubs will help you evaluate its pros and cons. If you have any experience with this type of bathtub, please leave your opinion.

Reviews and opinions on steel bathtubs and their use

The steel bath of Karaganda is terrible!
A comment
I want to tell you about a steel bath made in Karaganda. Of course, now there are a huge number of bathtubs on the market, various models from different coatings, acrylic, cast iron and steel materials. I bought the usual steel bath itself, it just all came down to money, so I really had no choice, since steel baths are the most budget ones. I was promised a guarantee of 20 years on a steel enameled bathtub made in Karaganda.

I installed it myself, it immediately became clear that the bath was very noisy, but I could fix it. A few months after the purchase, scratches from the shower hose began to form on the inner surface, which sometimes simply lay there. Scratches, although not very deep, but there is a fact of occurrence.
In fact, I am very sad that the bath turned out to be completely of poor quality, the coverage is terrible and not even worth its 3000.
pros
Cheap.
Minuses
Poor bathtub interior, noisy.

Kaldewei Saniform Plus bathtub - although made of steel, is not inferior to cast iron and acrylic
A comment
Choosing a bath turned for me into a global problem. It would seem that this is complicated, but this purchase is for a long time, so I wanted to buy a quality and reliable thing. I searched among steel bathtubs and I liked Kaldewei Saniform Plus, costing 9,000. A German-made bathtub, its steel thickness is 3.5 mm. On top of the steel is coated with a smooth and very durable enamel, which provides protection against rust, plaque and cracks. The warranty for the bath is 30 years. Of course I bought it.

During operation, it turned out that it is quiet, dirt does not eat into the enamel. It is washed by any means, it is not whimsical to use. Keeps heat well, all thanks to a thick layer of steel.

Of the shortcomings, I found that inside it is not very convenient to settle down, I have to crush my legs. The rest of the bath is wonderful!
pros
Quiet, warm, cheap, high quality
Minuses
Not comfortable

We have a steel bathtub Emalia, convenience for 3!
A comment
I bought a steel bathtub Emalia, for the reason that there is no freight elevator in the house, and somehow I did not really want to drag cast iron to the 13th floor. The bath is light and shiny. The surface is smooth and perfectly even, almost shining with its whiteness. For a year of use, the enamel is like new, the coating itself is satisfactory in quality, there are no complaints about it.

But it cools very quickly, almost instantly. At the expense of volume, I’ll say so, my husband solved this problem, put the bath on a wooden frame, after which it does not ring at all when collecting water. And one more thing, if you install a bathtub without a frame, then it can bend under the dimensions of a person, only the columns here will not save.

In general, the bathtub is like a bathtub, there is nothing special in it; if you have the opportunity to purchase cast iron, don’t even think about it, and don’t even look at steel, pass it by.
pros
light, cheap, smooth and even surface
Minuses
misses, rings, cools quickly
Term of use
more than three years
